A LUXURY KITCHEN MAINTENANCE GUIDE
FREE DOWNLOAD
Every maintenance task for your premium built-in appliances on one schedule — organized two ways, by interval and by appliance, with checkboxes. Print it, laminate it, keep it in the kitchen.
Two pages. No email required. Print-friendly.

BY INTERVAL
Everything sorted by how often it needs doing — after every use, weekly, monthly, quarterly, every six months, annually, and the items that wait for an indicator light. Checkboxes throughout.
BY APPLIANCE
The same schedule sorted by machine — refrigerator, wine storage, icemaker, dishwasher, range, ventilation, coffee system, steam oven, speed oven, drawers, fryer. For when you want to look up one unit.
Here it is in full. Download the PDF above for the printable version with checkboxes.
EVERY USE & WEEKLY
QUICK
•
After every use: wipe down the cooktop while spills are fresh
•
Weekly: clean warming drawers, vacuum drawers, and microwave drawers — depending on usage
MONTHLY
30 MINUTES
•
Clean the oven interior
•
Clean ventilation hood grates
•
Wipe down the vent hood
EVERY 3 MONTHS
QUARTERLY
•
Run a dishwasher cleaning tablet, then clean the filter afterward (the cycle loosens debris; the filter is where it ends up)
•
Clean out the refrigerator fresh food section — shelves, interior, gaskets
EVERY 6 MONTHS
THE BIG ONES
•
Clean bottom-mounted condensers — refrigerator, wine storage, icemaker (more often with pets — this is the single most important item on this page)
•
Descale and sanitize the undercounter icemaker, and wipe out the cabinet
•
Descale the coffee system (every 3–6 months, or when the unit prompts you)
•
Descale the steam oven (every 3–6 months, or when the unit prompts you)
ONCE A YEAR
ANNUAL
•
Clean top-mounted condensers
•
Run the oven self-clean cycle — remove the racks first (racks will discolor at self-clean temperatures)
•
Gas range: heat to highest temperature for a few hours, cool, then wipe out
WHEN THE INDICATOR SAYS SO
WATCH FOR IT
•
Replace the water filter — then reset the indicator light and flush the system
•
Replace the air purification filter — then reset the indicator light
•
Icemaker filter — every 6 to 12 months depending on model
Always use manufacturer filters. Aftermarket water filters have caused massive leaks.
AS USED
•
Drain and clean the fryer — after burnt grease, after cooking fish before switching over, or after several uses
EVERY 3 YEARS
CALL SOMEBODY
•
Have a technician look at your units — even if everything seems fine (trained eyes catch what you can’t: early wear, construction dust, a gasket starting to fail)
A DIRTY CONDENSER
Choked airflow makes the whole system work harder. A refrigerator that should run thirty years starts failing early. Fifteen minutes, twice a year, prevents it.
AFTERMARKET WATER FILTERS
I’ve seen massive leaks from filters failing at the manifold. The $20 you save is the worst bet you can make on a luxury appliance.
BEFORE YOU CALL ANYONE
Have your model number, serial number, and any error code ready — or at minimum, the brand and type of unit. It’s the difference between one visit and three. Photograph your serial tag now and save it somewhere you’ll find it.
This calendar comes from A Luxury Kitchen Maintenance Guide.
The calendar tells you when. The guide tells you how — condenser cleaning step by step, icemaker descaling, filters, the clicking igniter, the glass between the oven door glass, and when to call a technician instead of trying it yourself.
Written by a certified appliance technician who services Sub-Zero, Wolf, Cove and Thermador every week.
$27 for a limited time. Regularly $47. 60-day money-back guarantee.
